Orchid Club

2nd Friday of each month except January at 7:30pm visitors and new
members welcome. We usually have a guest speaker to talk on orchid
culture and answer all your questions.
The club also produces a bulletin, which is sent to all members each
month.
We also have our annual Orchid Show at the Kangaroo Leisure Centre the
first weekend in October each year and organize several bus trips
during the year to other Orchid Shows.
OBJECTIVES.
(a) To encourage, develop and foster a love and appreciation of orchids
and to encourage friendly participation within the Club and with
kindred societies and clubs wherever they may be.
(b) To provide a meeting place for members and others interested in
orchid culture for their mutual benefit and fellowship.
(c) For the purpose of enabling the above objectives to be furthered or
realised, to.
(i)
Hold regular meetings to which lectures on general or specialised
orchid subjects are given and opportunity offered for discussion or
orchid problems.
(ii) Publish
literature, hold orchid shows and promote other activities to further
the objectives, aims and work of the club and make known such
objectives, aims and work.
MEMBERSHIP AND RIGHTS.
Membership of the Club shall be open to any interested person who is in
agreement with its objectives and prepared to abide by its
constitution. No restrictions shall be imposed on any person by virtue
of religious or political beliefs, sex, race or age, but the Committee
shall have the right to refuse membership by a three-fourths majority
in secret ballot to any person without assigning any reason therefore.
Membership application is to be made in writing.
Each ordinary Member shall pay an annual subscription, which shall
entitle him/her!
(a) To attend the Annual General meeting and any General Meeting' of
the Club and vote on any matters properly raised,
(b) To nominate any member for office or to accept nomination for any
office of the Club,
(c) To have use of the Club's library,
d) To receive any publication which may be issued by the Club.
